Padre Dam #1

Located in Santee, California, Padre Dam was built as a water supply for Mission San Diego de Alcala.

When I was in junior high, my friends and I used to love exploring that area and camping overnight. My most vivid memory of Padre Dam is helping a friend of mine catch butterflies there for a college class. How silly we must have looked running around with butterfly nets.

Today Padre Dam is part of a regional park where people go to hike and check out the birds.
